Dallmeier electronic is an outstanding pioneer of digital video recording. Dallmeier electronic was founded in Regensburg by Dieter Dallmeier in 1984. The company launched its first digital hard disk recorder at the Security exhibition in Essen as early as 1992. Despite minimal storage capacity this first device - a digital video sensor with an alarm picture memory using PC architecture, a 486/33mHz processor and a 100 MB hard disk - was a workable solution and a significant milestone on the road to success. Today, more than one million cameras worldwide are recorded and managed on Dallmeier systems.
The DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 certified company has continued to produce a stream of new systems, advancing and consolidating its position in the DVR market. Using the latest developments in hardware, software and standards, over the years its innovations have included customized solutions for various industries (filling stations, banks, casinos etc.); a multi-track recording system using wavelet compression; Linux-based storage; MPEG-2-based storage with time-shifting; digital picture storage using Wavelet and H.264, and an intelligent self learning sensor.
Dallmeier electronic’s business is focused exclusively on high resolution recording systems for security applications, combining modular hardware and software architecture to meet the ever increasing requirements of network systems and their users.
Dallmeier’s rigorous approach to meeting both customer requirements and high quality standards has ensured that its products have gained approval and certification by a variety of industry and international standards organizations (VdS, Kalagate, UVV-Kassen, IZB / FIDUCIA). The company’s commitment to quality and product longevity is also demonstrated by its long warranties and extensive after-sales services. All Dallmeier recorders are sold with a three year warranty, with spare parts availability ensured for 6 years. For customers with queries or problems, there are both a customer hot-line and an on-line Partner Forum. The latter, designed to promote efficient information exchange includes an extensive FAQ database in English and German, as well as current information on software updates and its in-house professional training.
In the last six years the number of employees has increased from 21 to approximately 280 in 2008. - Growth which has been achieved by closely observing the market and directing research and development to producing products to meet its needs precisely.
Dallmeier digital video recording devices and individual system solutions are marketed world-wide through distributors in more than 30 countries. Dallmeier’s strategy for further expansion is to establish branch offices in other countries, penetrate new international markets and new industry sectors, and to increase market share. The first of these overseas branch offices was established in the UK in 2001 and is supporting sales in the British market by providing distributors and customers with top quality advice and service on a local basis. Further branch offices have been founded in the meantime and customers as well as partners now also have a direct contact person in France, Spain, China, Switzerland and the USA.
